This position is located in the Optometry Department at PIMC in Phoenix, AZ. The optometry technician serves as front-line health care personnel; performing a combination of technical and admin tasks related to the treatment and care of eye patients in an ambulatory environment. Incumbent performs eye care services and technical tasks for patient care under the direct supervision of Chief of Optometry.
A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Obtains and records patient intake information and enters and updates clinical information in the electronic health record as directed. Performs optometric screening and diagnostic testing in support of provider evaluation and treatment.
Administers dilating drops and other medications as directed by the optometrist or authorized provider. Supports daily Eye Clinic operations by preparing, cleaning, organizing, stocking, and maintaining clinical rooms and equipment.
