Job Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Performs maintenance and repair on diesel engines, transmissions, cranes, bulldozers, winches, and electrical systems aboard the Dredge Goetz.

Assists with watch standing duties and supports other mechanics to ensure continuous, safe operation of floating plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in removing, disassembling, and rebuilding diesel engines (15 to 5500 HP). Installs new parts, rebuilds fuel and water pumps, adjusts valve and fuel timing to restore engines to proper operating condition.
