The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various distribution systems, multiple main substations, electric power controlling equipment and/or distribution lines and associated specialized electronic controls, computer monitoring systems and equipment to support the operational mission at hand.

Major Duties

- Plans, designs, coordinates, installs, modifies, tests, repairs, and maintain transformers, converters, regulators, cables, switches, sectionalizes, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic systems, and other circuit elements located in and near installation substations, buildings and structures, in direct support of real time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber and information technology capabilities. - Plans, constructs, modifies, connects, inspects, locates and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution lines providing power for climate control, security, and storage to a Pre-positioned War Reserve Stock of underwater mines, torpedoes, and small arms ammunition. - Troubleshoots and maintains distribution circuits, airfield lighting, airfield computer panels, lightning protection systems (LPS), railroad grounding protection systems, railyard LPS, generating and controlling equipment, ship to shore power bunkers and cables. - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
