This vacancy is for a GS - 1173 - 9, Housing Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADMEY MWR SECTION in NEW LONDON, Connecticut.
You will serve as a/an Housing Management Specialist and be responsible for the administration and management of the Owned Housing, Unaccompanied Personnel Permanent and Transient housing, and privatized housing programs.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Receiving and processing applications for housing. Responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive housing inspection program for family owned and Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH) facilities in accordance with Coast Guard housing policies. Determining housing eligibility and requirements of applicants while following established schedules and procedures in carrying out activities related to the assignment, use, operation, and management of housing assets. Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of a comprehensive housing inspection program for family and UPH housing facilities in accordance with Coast Guard Housing policies. Conducting, coordinating and initiating assignment, termination, maintenance, safety and cleanliness inspections of all CG housing assets. Controlling and arranging the repair, storage and distribution of UPH furnishings and the programming of funds for their replacement. Reviews local policies to ensure compliance with service fees associated with UPH assignments.
