THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HOUSING OFFICER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0605000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS, National Guard.
As a HOUSING OFFICER (TITLE 32), GS-1173-9, you will be responsible for managing the housing at a major training area which includes such temporary quarters as barracks. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Direct and review the assignment of troop buildings, furnishings, and equipment, considering factors like unit size, troop sex, and unit type.
Formulate and develop local directives and instructions for the assignment of quarters, maintenance procedures, and other facility requirements. Schedule and supervise pre-occupancy and termination inspections to evaluate the cleanliness, maintenance, and habitability of quarters. Perform personnel management functions by assigning work, reviewing results, interviewing and selecting personnel, and ensuring training needs are met.
Establish performance standards, complete or review employee performance, and determine the overall leave schedule for the division. Counsel employees, adjust informal complaints and grievances, and initiate disciplinary actions as needed. Determine annual requirements and formulate budget estimates for operating supplies, maid service, laundry, and personnel costs. Manage special housing funds, such as the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Fund and the Billeting Fund.
Supervise the warehousing operation responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accountability of furnishings and equipment.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this occupational series and grade.
