The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the senior housing referral assistant in providing off-base referral and placement services for an overseas joint housing referral office. Incumbent is responsible and accountable for operating the Housing Referral program for newly assigned military and DoD civilian personnel to provide housing.
Key Responsibilities
Incumbent is responsible and accountable for operating the Housing Referral Program for newly assigned military and DoD Civilian employees assigned to Okinawa. Maintains liaison with all government agencies within the area to be aware of personnel who are to be assigned. Counsels military and DoD civilian personnel seeking off-base housing rentals.
Periodically reviews reports received from individuals who have rented or purchased housing units to determine whether owners or rental agencies are discriminating.
Investigates and mediates any complaints of off-base housing problems which have been presented by either the DoD member of the owner/operator of listed facilities, investigates discrimination complaints against their landlords, or the request by landlords to have their complaints against military/civilian tenants resolved.
This position is with Pacific Air Forces, Department of the Air Force.
