Job Summary
This position is in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Human Resources Directorate, Personnel Services Division. The Directorate provides human resources support to the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) and those Defense Agencies and Department of War (DoW) field activities WHS administratively supports.
The Personnel Services Division provides recruitment, placement, and classification services for the Principal Staff Assistants in the OSW, WHS, and other supported DoW activities.
Key Responsibilities
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Provides staff-level advice and developing solutions for complex issues related to HR classification principles, concepts, laws, policies, and procedures. Advises management officials on federal laws, rules, regulations, and concepts governing civilian personnel disciplines related to classification. Analyzes, researches, and develops internal policies and procedures to improve HR management programs.
Utilizes automated personnel systems (like DCPDS) for classification and staffing actions and understanding their interrelationships with other automated systems. Conducts complex studies and analyses of position management, organizational structures, and their relationship with classification.
