(Continued from Summary) GS-07 The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in support of the Air Reserve Personnel Center's office, which is primary responsible for researching, verifying, correcting and updating the Military Personnel Data System the users (MilPDS) of for various data items to ensure the proper career credit and accurate accounting of members for PAS S7 our Reserve resources; being accountable to and officially documenting transfers of members within the portion of the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) and Standby Reserve; and to perform various other military personnel duties as required.
Duties GS-05 Performs developmental work assignments Performs recurring work assignments Participates in special studies and projects Prepares written correspondence and other documentation GS-06/07 Assists in performing analyses, computes, verifies and updates for a variety of data elements in MilPDS for Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard members in accordance with current and historical laws, governing directives and internal policies Assists in making the appropriate determinations of member's status and proper assignment within IRR/Standby Reserve Independently develops and provides verbal and written responses to inquiries and answers questions either through the Case Management System (CMS), REMEDY, telephone, writing, E-mail Assists in processing gain actions and loss requests within IRR/Standby Reserve S7 PAS Inquires correct against office and updates computer files.

Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave. At the time the active duty member applies for a civil position, he or she must submit a "certification" memo in lieu of a DD-Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
Active duty members applying for a civil service position without submitting a valid certification memo or DD-Form 214 with their application will render the member ineligible for the position.
The certification memo must originate from the member's military service branch on official letterhead and contain the following: Name/Rank/Grade of Service Member Branch of Armed Forces Dates of Active Service (Start and End Date(s) Expected Date of Discharge/Release from Active Duty Terminal leave start date (if applicable) Expected character of service (honorable or general) and type of separation (i.e.
separation or retirement) Must be certified within 120 days of anticipated discharge Signature by, or by direction of the adjutant, personnel office, unit commander, or higher headquarters commander.
