The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join the Workforce Employment Division within the Office of Human Resources in Alexandria, Virginia. In this role, you will support recruitment and placement activities for a broad range of positions.
You will help ensure that staffing actions are accurate, timely, and consistent with applicable policies and procedures.
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per leave year.
These positions are located within the Patents and Trademark and Corporate Workforce Employment Divisions.
This rewarding opportunity is the ideal next career step for you if: You're a collaborative team player who will provide administrative assistance and technical support to HR Specialists in support of recruitment and placement programs including merit promotion and delegated examining functions; You're self-sufficient and can independently verify nature of actions, regulatory authority, and data element information in order to code and process personnel actions for appointments, promotions, transfers, separations, etc.; You're proficient at updating automated HR systems such as payroll systems, USA Staffing and other relevant system records during the recruitment and placement process on a regular and recurring basis; and You have excellent customer service skills to support the Workforce Employment Divisions and can respond to non-technical inquiries.
As a general rule, education is not creditable for the GS-06 and GS-07 grade levels covered in this vacancy announcement. However, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to Human Resources and or the work of the position.
If this position requires proof of higher education, or you are substituting education for experience, you must submit an unofficial transcript or a list of courses that includes the following information: name of accredited institution, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application. Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
