If selected for this position, you will serve as a Human Resources Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of California. You will provide a variety of human resources management services in two or more of the following functional areas: recruitment and placement, position classification, employee relations and performance management, employee benefits, and human resources development. If selected, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Duties include: Researching, interpreting, and applying human resource related laws and regulations to individual situations and questions raised by employees and supervisors. Conducting new employee orientation. Providing advice and assistance to employees and management in the area of employee benefits to include health insurance, retirement, and life insurance. Assisting employees in preparing paperwork related to HR actions, reviewing forms for completeness. Using automated staffing systems to develop vacancy announcements by gathering information from position descriptions, qualification standards, and processing new-hire onboarding. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
