This is a Detail Not to Exceed One Year, however, the detail may be made permanent without additional competition. This position is located in Business Operations, VA Central Office (VACO), Human Resources Service Center (HRSC). The incumbent serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems), and responsible for providing reporting and analytics support to HR leadership.
Major duties include: Analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining database structure and database applications; managing organizational data assets and ensure that the database collects, stores, and processes data that supports current and future organizational business needs; Developing standard operating procedures, user documentation, and trainings to support user's understanding of enhancements and improvement of various automated systems and tools; Coordinating specifications for upgrades and enhancements to automated HR systems; Interpreting system requirements and proposing updates or new procedures that impact HR; Planning application of data systems to meet local HR requirements and consults with customers to design, implement, and maintain specific subsystems; Managing internal and outward facing platforms (SharePoint, intranet, HR Smart, USA Staffing, etc); Provide reporting and analytics support to HR Leadership. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: May be available at Manager's discretion. Telework: May be authorized in accordance with agency policy. Virtual: This position may be authorized for Virtual Work. Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees that are already subject to the return to in person work mandate in their current position.
