(Summary Continued) GS-09 The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead Human Resources Specialist (Military) with responsibility for planning, developing and carrying out the full range of programs that impact each military member's career; accessions, appointments, assignments, promotions, qualification training, military schools, performance evaluations, strength accounting, health and fitness programs, retirements, and awards and decorations and all related management advisory services for assigned organizations. Duties GS-07 Performs developmental assignments. Performs recurring assignments. Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. GS-09 Serves as Military Personnelist. Assists in leading military and civilian personnelists within the Military Personnel Section (MPS) mission sets. Serves as technical consultant on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties assigned to the Customer Support, Force Management and/or Career Developments elements of MPS. Oversees updates, inquires, and process actions through military personnel data systems by Military Personnel Section team members. Reviews products to identify and correct mismatched data in system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated and required actions have been taken. Serves as lead for in-garrison Personnel Contingency Operations (PERSCO), with an emphasis on deployment and reception of forces, casualty assistance, disaster response, and strength and accountability. Serves as the installation's focal point for monitoring all personnel deployment processing activities, Personnel Deployment Function (PDF), to include orders publication, eligibility screening, pre-deployment briefings, assisting the transportation/passenger terminal in passenger manifesting; and/or similar activities within the Reception Processing Unit (RPU). Serves as passport agent.
