The primary purpose of this position, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN, GS-0895 -09 potential GS-11, is to serve as an independent production planner and perform complex and comprehensive studies in the repair, overhaul, manufacturing and modification of components for a commodities production branch in worldwide support of major weapon systems.
Accomplish intimal planning functions to include production planning, manufacturing planning, and methods improvement. Develop/revise standards to include the following tasks; develop labor, material equipment, and facility standards for shop workloads. Develop, file, and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for all workloads. Support the Planning Chief, Exchangeable Production Support Chief and Fixer in production meetings and assist in identifying significant planning issues.
Provide technical guidance and coordination on unusual technical problems encountered during the production cycle. Coordinate with the responsible production shop manager on determining the level and location of tracking points in the Inventory Tracking System (ITS).
