Plans, organizes, and performs health risk assessment related activities (Bioenvironmental Engineering /Public Health), ensuring that (Bioenvironmental Engineering/Public Health) complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Public Health Program. As a member of the BE/PH office, may be required to assist with public health activities.
Oversees and executes Bioenvironmental Engineering section lonizing Radiation, Non-lonizing Radiation, and Laser Safety Programs. Serves as the Installation Radiation Safety Officer (IRSO) and Installation Laser. Occupational Health Program. Assists with management of the occupational health program by identifying the occupation hazard (chemical/toxic/biological/radiological materials or physical), and determining the Occupational Health Medical Exam requirements.
Performs other duties - To include: Keeps informed on the latest USAF, OSHA, ACGIH, ANSI, and EPA regulations or standards and advances in industrial hygiene and public health by reading professional literature, notices of proposed rulemaking, scientific journals; periodicals, professional reference books, or by attending workshops, conferences or classes etc. Distributes pertinent information to appropriate personnel within the function and agencies base wide.
