Job Summary

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Located within the Information Management Division, Records and Research Branch, Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will serve as the senior staff action officer/advisor, providing authoritative guidance on policy, procedures, technology systems and federal information management programs in support of Joint Staff records, research and content operations.

Major Duties

As a INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Program Coordination: Serves as the Joint Staff point of contact for assigned information management program areas, coordination with Directorates to ensure records management requirements, issues and actions are appropriately addressed. Policy Development Support: Leads the drafting, staffing and coordination of information management issuances. Works with Directorates to gather inputs, resolve comments and ensure policies align with operational requirements. Strategic Analysis: Contributes to strategies and planning documents that support Joint Staff information management goals. Research & Process Improvement: Conducts research and evaluates new approaches, methodologies and technologies with internal and external partners for potential applicability to Joint Staff information management programs; Identifies potential technology solutions and process improvements to address business challenges; Supports change management activities by preparing documentation, and recommendation for leadership review. Strategic Analysis: Contributes to strategies and planning documents that support Joint Staff information management goals; provides recommendations to senior staff based on research, Directorate feedback and mission requirements. Data Analytics and Reporting: Produce reports, dashboards, visualizations to support decision making. Synchronizes data from multiple sources to inform IMD leadership and Directorate partners.
