Job Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-2210-12, Information Tech Cyber Security Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, MAJOR SYSTEMS ACQUISITION ASSISTANT PEO C5I -CG-933, USCG-TECH-CYBER in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia. .

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a/an Information Tech Cyber Security Specialist and be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing organizational information systems; upgrading legacy systems; and providing program analytical support, guidance, and recommendations in connection with the acquisition of IT for the USCG.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Providing direct support for acquisitions that use IT (including National Security Systems), applying IT-related laws and policies and providing IT-related guidance throughout the total acquisition lifecycle. Facilitating meetings with the acquisition program and project managers to identify and document all cybersecurity issues and actions, resource requirements, and project planning issues or activities.

Evaluating and resolving critical and complex IT assessment and authorization (A&A) and lifecycle management problems. Coordinating with system architects and developers to provide oversight in the development of design solutions. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Must complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with a favorable adjudication by a determining authority. Must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

Must be able to achieve and maintain DHS Program Management Level II certification and USCG Information Technology Level II certification within 18 months of employment/assignment. Must be able to achieve and maintain COR certification within 18 months of employment/assignment. Must be able to achieve and maintain Level II DOD 8140 certification within 6 months of employment/assignment.
