Job Summary

This position is located in the Office of Intelligence Operations, Operational Intelligence Division, Analysis Production Branch located in Washington, DC performing work in the collection, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information on conditions, trends, and forces in foreign and domestic areas that directly or indirectly affect the national security.

Key Responsibilities

The major duties of the Intelligence Research position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as a primary source of intelligence information for special agents, through such activities as clarifying the nature of investigative intelligence indicators, requesting data to substantiate or verify information, and researching information for use in responding to collateral requests.

Assembles, collates, and analyzes separate pieces of raw intelligence data from a variety of known and unknown sources gathered under known conditions. Reviews investigative and/or intelligence reports from various agencies regarding the dissemination of intelligence information for use by law enforcement entities.

Represents the division and ATF in working groups, committees, task forces, and conferences to exchange information, resolve technical problems, eliminate duplication of effort, and coordinate multi-division activities. Performs liaison and coordination functions with counterparts and personnel throughout the intelligence and law enforcement communities, including Federal, State, local, and foreign agencies and organizations.
