The primary purpose of this position is t?o serve as a experienced intelligence specialist engaging in the complex technical collection and reporting of information obtained from multi-intelligence sources, through various means, related to political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, scientific, and/or military conditions, trends & forces that directly/indirectly affect national security.
Serves as a multi-source intelligence collection specialist working complex collections and operations assignments. Presents ISR capabilities to a variety of service, national, and coalition customers. Provides commanders and other customers the intelligence information and evaluation derived from SR assets to maximize their own forces' effectiveness by optimizing friendly force strengths, exploiting adversary weaknesses, and countering adversary strengths.
Conducts complex research, evaluation, collection, dissemination and fusion of multi-source information from one or more intelligence disciplines to satisfy a broad range of customer requirements. Plans and directs ISR operations. Plans, directs and integrates functions to provide ISR intelligence and situational awareness necessary to successfully plan and conduct operations in support of combatant commanders and other customers within the assigned areas of responsibility.
Serves as a functional authority on ISR issues. Makes recommendations and defends decisions on operational policy matters to the Director and Agency staff, and is often required to make recommendations on committing large expenditures of Agency funds or resources impacting future capabilities and programs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
