Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an experienced lead targeting instructor of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Combat Operations Divisions within the Combined Air Operations Center-Nellis (CAOC-N) with the responsibilities detailed in AFTTP 3-3.AOC to include providing subject matter expertise while leading the training of targeting students through 16 weeks of advanced training exercise execution and 52 weeks of operational intelligence scenario designs.

As the Lead of the Target Duty Officers and Targets/Tactical Assessment Team, provides subject matter expertise and instruction as the single manager of all targeting processes under the authority of the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) and establishes procedures for the conduct of targeting.

Responsible for all targeting operations as depicted in AFTTP 3-3.AOC to include the task organization of the Targets/Tactical Assessment Team and the Target Duty Officers on the Senior Intelligence Duty Officer (SIDO) Team. Conducts complex research, evaluation, collection, dissemination and fusion of multi-source information from one or more intelligence disciplines to satisfy a broad range of customer requirements.

Participates as intelligence planner in the design and development of targeting scenarios for event participants at both the tactical and operational level of war; and provides realistic representation of the AOC ISRD and COD processes as outlined in AFTTP 3-3.AOC to support US and coalition forces.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
