The primary purpose of this position is: Assistant Chief, Analysis and Applications Team and Senior Analyst in the CONR-1 AF / A2 Directorate. As the Air Component to US NORTHCOM (AFNORTH), US SPACECOM (USSPACECOM) and CONUS NORAD Region Command, the senior analyst performs complex intelligence analysis on emerging and existing threats to Homeland Defense in all phases of conflict against US interests.

Major Duties

DUTY 1: Serves as the CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) expert intelligence analyst for the AFFOR Commander and Directors on all intelligence matters including intelligence processes, analysis, indications and warning (I&W) of threats to theater, collection and production requirements, and reporting and dissemination. Assesses the adequacy, validity, and significance of information and analysis of subordinates prior to passing to commanders and other CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) leadership and staff. DUTY 2: Plans and directs the production of intelligence analytical products and reports for 1AF/A2A leadership, A2 Directorate leadership, and 1AF/AFFOR leadership and staff. Works closely and coordinates with NORTHCOM/J2, interagency partners, and intelligence community to develop assessments, intelligence summaries, and other analytical products. DUTY 3: Directs the Analysis Division's efforts in support of all CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) planning efforts. Reviews, provides quality control, and approves analytical threat assessments for mission analysis process. DUTY 4: Serves as the AFFOR's senior analyst in support of unit intelligence operations. Maintains program oversight and provides support to all aspects of intelligence analysis and operations to the AFFOR, subordinate Air Defense Sectors and gained operational units, as appropriate. DUTY 5: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities over a limited staff. Structures assignments and assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and deadlines, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.

Education

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
