Job Summary

As an Interdisciplinary Engineer (Electrical/Electronics), you will provide leadership in the planning, design, review, liaison, & coordination of control & protection systems for substations and switchyards. ***This is not a remote position. You will have to physically report to the Lakewood, CO duty location.***

Major Duties

As an Interdisciplinary Engineer (Electrical/Electronics), you will: Prepares and reviews designs, drawings, interfaces, bill of materials, and quantity estimates for control, metering, relaying, and facility power for substations and switchyards. Coordinates office designs with other organization segments. Selects and applies digital equipment suitable for integration of control, metering, and relaying systems located in harsh electrical environments of substations and switchyards. Prepares and recommends design standards, guidelines, and procedures concerning control and protection applications for W AP A and other industry groups. Provides technical direction and guidance to other employees as assigned. Provides technical expertise and coordination assistance to W AP A Regional maintenance office by analyzing and resolving substation operational and maintenance problems. Prepares solicitations for procurement of electrical equipment and material, and specifications for construction contracts. Reviews contractor furnished drawings and data for compliance with specifications and notifies contractor of required design revision.

Education
