You will serve as an entry-level/developmental GG-07 or GG-09 engineer, architect, physicist, chemist, mathematician, or computer scientist within the FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, MD, where you will conduct technical research, analysis, and production on adversary naval systems and capabilities.
You will apply basic analytical techniques against tasks and assignments in conjunction with senior analysts.

Related curriculum -- Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.

Combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education. GG-1520-07/09 Basic Requirements: A. Degree: mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics. OR B.
Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite.
GG-1550-07/09 Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Evaluation of Education Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
Eligibility: Current Students and Recent Graduates Recent graduates who completed a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate within the last two years of the closing date of the announcement. Also, veterans who were unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligations but are still within six years of graduation completion date with a qualifying degree.
This also extends to those who anticipate graduating in the next 9 months.
