Job Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Supervisory Interdisciplinary position with the USACE Little Rock District, Operations Division located in Piedmont, MO.

Can be filled at the GS-11 or the full performance GS-12.This vacancy can be filled in any of the following occupations: 0401 0460 0486 0808 0801 0810 0830 or 0850.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of complex and sometimes controversial natural resource management and protect programs that include fish and wildlife management, soil conservation, fire protection and flood control.

Requirements & Education

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE CONTINUED: GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: 1) evaluating recreation trends to analyze public needs, demands, and resource capabilities and 2) using operations and maintenance plans to reduce and manage flood risk efforts. OR Education: Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: 1) developing plans for natural resources management involving fish/wildlife, forestry and vegetation management, rangeland and soil conservation, or water and fire protection, 2) Identify deficiencies in natural resources programs for improvement of endangered resources, limited funding, overcrowding, or under development and 3) reviewing operations and maintenance plans to reduce and manage flood risk efforts.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
