Basic Requirement for Computer Scientist GG-1550: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in computer science or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that includes total information systems engineering in the design, implementation, operation, integration, testing, securing, and sustainment of IT systems and networks; Developing technical analyses of preliminary and detailed systems design inclusive of overall system/network architecture; Reviews and analyzes user operational requirements for technical definition and evaluates performance/cost trade-off in the determination of system design; Plans operational/change testing of systems and equipment installed to insure conformance with user requirements.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
