Key Responsibilities

SUMMARY CONTINUED: GS-13 The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a professional Operations Interior Design Project Officer and is responsible for the performance of work related to the design and construction of interior environments and space utilization to promote employee productivity, health, and welfare and /or the health and welfare of the public.

DUTIES: GS-12/13 Performs planning and interior design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of architecture. Provides a high level of advice and assistance to Department of Air Force (DAF) customers on furniture, construction, and interior design concepts.

Manages projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and maintains surveillance over construction contractors utilizing a professional knowledge of design to ensure overall compliance with contracted specifications, schedules, etc. Plans, programs, budgets, and executes required projects in support of assigned programs and performs work in facilities operations and maintenance (O&M) functions.
