This position serves as an Inventory Manager within the Supply Chain Management Service at the Montana VA Health Care System, and is responsible for the inventory and management of all expendable supplies and durable medical equipment in the assigned area(s).
Duties include, but are not limited to: This position serves as an Inventory Manager in the Commodity Management Division of the Logistics Service in the VA Health Care System responsible for the inventory and management of all expendable supplies and durable medical equipment in the assigned area(s). Major duties and responsibilities include: Inventory Management and Control: Responsible for the management and control of an assigned class of expendable material Serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems. Conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks. Complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition, and sensitive equipment. Returns, Recalls, and Reutilization: Implements federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies; coordinates disposal of surplus or excess supplies. Makes emergent procurement decisions; and participates in root cause analysis process. Computes requirements for supplies and DME. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Must maintain applicable training and licensing to operate assigned equipment.
