This Inventory Management Specialist serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of the Supply Chain Management Service in the VA Health Care System, responsible for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in the assigned area(s). This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week.
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Lifecycle Management: Responsible for the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets; conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning; analyzes data; supports customers and acquisition personnel in developing requirements, utilizing mandatory sources and standardization sources; and corresponds with procurement officials and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
Inventory Management and Control: Responsible for the management and control of NX equipment assets; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems; conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition and sensitive equipment.
Conducts short, mid and long term advanced planning for new and replacement NX assets, utilizing enterprise-wide computerized planning tools. Participates in VISN and facility strategic planning to support major construction projects, activation of new facilities and reuse of existing space involving multi-million dollar projects. Coordinates final disposition of NX assets, including the reutilization program.
Corresponds with procurement officials, vendors, project engineers and other stakeholders to resolve issues involving; inspections, installation, training and development equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Notifications: The incumbent may be required to travel to other VA campuses. Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50 (Notice of Personnel Action). The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held. This position is in the Competitive Service. Veterans' preference does not apply for other current permanent Federal agency employees.
