Job Summary

The Intelligence Community Office of the Inspector General is searching for exceptional candidates to join us in fulfilling our mission to identify and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct across the 18 elements of the Intelligence Community. We uphold the integrity of the IC and amplify its impact through independent oversight that demands accountability and drives excellence.

IC OIG has four offices: Legal Counsel, Audits & Inspections, Investigations & Intake, and Strategy & Support.

Key Responsibilities

We are hiring motivated and detail-oriented Investigative Analysts to join our Investigations team-an entry-level role that offers an exceptional opportunity to launch your career in investigative work.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with senior team members to support a diverse array of investigations across the Intelligence Community, gaining hands-on experience in the full investigative process from intake and initial analysis to resolution, while participating in training designed to build your expertise.

This dynamic role emphasizes strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to tackle complex matters, fostering relationships within the Intelligence Community and contributing to high-impact outcomes in a supportive environment that values curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to integrity, with ample room for professional growth, skill-building, and advancement.

With supervision, duties include but are not limited to: Conducting inquiries into possible violations of laws, rules and regulations, mismanagement, fraud, gross waste of funds, and abuse of authority if the violation relates to the Intelligence Community and falls within the Director of National Intelligence's authorities and responsibilities.

Developing and implementing investigative plans for investigations and projects by framing the allegation(s), determining elements of proof, and identifying investigative tasks. Gathering and analyzing information and/or evidence, by interviewing key individuals, administering warnings, oaths, or affirmations, collecting and analyzing high volumes of information, maintaining the chain of custody for evidence, and drafting and serving subpoenas.

Making initial recommendations to IC OIG senior leaders regarding actions they should take to address violations of law, regulations, and other serious problems, abuses, or deficiencies. Developing and presenting written documents that include reports of investigation and memoranda to management, and also develop and present oral briefings for senior leaders regarding findings and the status of complex or sensitive investigations.

Monitor the progress of corrective measures taken by senior ODNI and IC leadership, and provide advice and innovative solutions to senior officials regarding the implementation of recommendations. Supporting the development and presentation of briefings that keep leadership fully informed of fraud and other serious problems, abuses, and deficiencies relating to the administration of IC programs.
