WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an IT Program Manager (Policy and Planning), you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:Serving as the principal senior expert and consultant to GHC executive-level management on domestic and overseas IT, information systems, IT infrastructure, and IT security program activities, providing authoritative recommendations on strategy, policy, and planning that are accepted as technically authoritative across HHS/CDC.
Serving as the principal information systems advisor to the GHC Center Director on the development, support, standardization, and integration of public health information and surveillance systems, and on the application of information technology to the collection, management, and analysis of public health data across domestic and international sites.
Developing GHC IT policy and planning, methods, practices, and project management approaches, including leading overseas offices in IT infrastructure preparedness planning and devising architecture for sharing critical CDC data across all global sites.
Providing oversight in the implementation of information security policies, guidelines, and procedures for global systems, establishing and applying risk management procedures across all new and modified applications, and coordinating with the CDC Chief Information Security Officer on resolution of security and privacy violations and vulnerabilities.
Overseeing development and adherence of the GHC Enterprise Architecture in collaboration with CDC and HHS Architecture Offices, ensuring OMB compliance, and ensuring all systems remain compatible and cost-effective. This position has 20% supervisory duties, candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
