The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia mission is to enforce the criminal laws of the United States and the District of Columbia, represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, and respond to the public safety needs of the community by leading an effective, well-coordinated law enforcement effort that contributes to the overall goal of improving the quality of life in the District of Columbia.
This position is located in the Help Desk Section of the Information Technology Division, Front Office of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. The incumbent serves as a trainee IT Specialist providing technical support across the main office, subordinate offices, and nearby court locations. The IT environment includes computers, networks, operating systems, web-based and Oracle applications, wireless technology, and case management systems.
As the employee gains experience, supervisory guidance decreases and responsibilities increase toward the next grade level. If selected for this position, you will join a highly respected team responsible for providing IT customer support services to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C., with a primary focus on help desk operations and customer support.
Typical work assignments will include: Assisting senior IT Specialists in delivering IT customer support services at the point of customer user/specialist interface. Assisting senior IT specialist in responding to user requests by providing solutions and resolving issues to user requests. Assisting IT specialists in installation and upgrade of commonly used hardware and software systems.
Assisting IT specialists with troubleshooting, recovering, diagnosing, and resolving hardware/software problems in response to reported incidents by customer. Assisting IT specialists in providing training to customers on routine hardware, software, and internet applications. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
