About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Youth Center, Beale AFB, CA. You will be scheduled to work anywhere from 0-40 hours per week; hours are not guaranteed. This position does not receive benefits. Moderately heavy physical effort is required in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and in pushing heavy furniture, loading carts, etc.
Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc., moves heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, hand truck, or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons where directed. Takes items to the recycle center, hazmat and other disposal sites. Performs groundskeeping tasks such as moving sand and dirt with a shovel, filling holes on playgrounds and sports fields, and weeding.
Levels bumps and low spots using a shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Operates hand lawnmowers and domestic-type powered lawnmowers. Clears small trees and bushes using a handsaw, hatchet, or clippers. Removes pests and insects throughout the facility and grounds. Power washes exterior facilities and playground equipment. Assembles furniture, toys, and various pieces of equipment upon delivery. Moves and arranges furniture as directed to support program needs.
Performs minor sanding and painting tasks to maintain the appearance of facilities. Changes light bulbs and assists with minor upkeep on appliances. Assists with minor preventative maintenance on vehicles. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. The posted pay range is $18.61 – $21.7/hr.
