This position starts at a salary of $40,736.00 (GS-05, Step 1) to $65,599.00 (GS-07, Step 10) with promotion potential to $80,243 (GS-9 Step 10). The Law Enforcement Information System Specialist collects, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence reports utilizing a wide range of law enforcement information systems and as a dispatcher including receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, monitoring logs, keeping records, addressing problems, an dispatching appropriate officials.
Duties and responsibilities include: Intelligence Gathering and Analysis: utilizing law enforcement databases, video and remote sensor data, and geospatial information to collect and analyze tactical intelligence to produce reports impacting real-time law enforcement operations.
Video, Sensor, and Radio Operations Analysis: operating equipment and analyzing tactical surveillance video and imagery in conjunction with sensor alerts and other resources to detect and identify threats and incursions to relay information to law enforcement in real-time. Geographic Information Systems Analysis: providing law enforcement with rapid access providing situational awareness and aid in operational effectiveness in real-time.
Research and Analysis: utilizing a variety of law enforcement information systems to conduct data mining and analysis; utilizing national databases to determine identity and criminal background.
