Job Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Major Duties

Functions as a Lead Computed Tomography DRT for a group of advanced DRTs. Provides a full range of general Computed Tomography treatment/scans/procedures, has a broad knowledge of the different modalities within the diagnostic radiologic area and is accountable to the next higher-level Section Supervisor. Coordinates and directs the work of lower grade technologists when examinations/procedures require assistance. Organizes staff work assignments, including lunch and break rotations. Directs all section patient schedules in a manner to optimize workflow while maintaining flexibility for emergency cases, rearranging patients to accommodate these requests, prioritizing scheduled patients as well as emergency patients. Trains new technologists and participates in the evaluation of new employees. Recommends, coordinates, and evaluates and adjusts for new or modified procedures/protocols. Instruct other technologists on specialized tasks and new/modified procedures and policies and ensure their compliance and understanding. Performs other duties assigned.
