Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Epidemiologist you will: Serve as the recognized expert in epidemiology for the agency with responsibility for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs, and initiating requirements for epidemiological studies. Provide advice and assistance for the development of contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements for professional, laboratory, or other services pertinent to the program, project, or study.
Provide epidemiological advice and/or assistance in the resolution of technical problems and issues that include significant barriers to program or project delivery. Lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization. Serve as a project coordinator and recommend resources for epidemiologic projects.
Design, plan, and initiate epidemiologic studies, surveys, and investigations.
Requirements & Education
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
