Job Summary

These positions are located within Environmental Management Services (EMS) and are responsible for supporting and performing tasks (e.g., environment of care, textile distribution and training) associated with EMS goals and objectives. These positions have no formal disciplinary authority over staff in the execution of daily tasks. Tours of duty vary depending on the internal department needs with weekdays, weekends, day and evening shift schedules.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Housekeeping Aid (Lead Environmental Services Technician), you will: Assist with the delegation of duties on a daily and project-by-project basis; Coordinate work with supervisors of other services within the positions area of jurisdiction so as not to interrupt patient care or other activities; Clean all patient areas and corridor spaces throughout the medical center, operating rooms, and all other areas assigned; Plan and schedule daily and weekly assignments, taking into consideration the availability of personnel and equipment to meet established priorities; Determine the equipment and cleaning materials needed for each job; Train staff to ensure the use of patient centered care principles in terms of customer service to patients, family members, and personnel; Provide on-the-job training for co-workers and new employees; Keep subordinates abreast of proper methods, procedures and uses of equipment and supplies; and Other duties as assigned.
