Job Summary

This position is within the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), Chief Administrative Office (N), Workplace Services (NW), Facilities Planning and Projects (NWM), Facilities Asset Management (NWMA). As our Lead Interior Designer and technical expert, you'll direct all facets of space planning and design. You will manage projects, lead teams, and shape modern, functional workspaces that advance BPA's mission to deliver reliable, affordable, and clean energy.

We are seeking a visionary Lead Interior Designer to shape the environments where this critical mission comes to life. This is your chance to go beyond aesthetics and create strategic, human-centered workspaces that enhance productivity, foster innovation, and directly contribute to our success.

As our Lead Interior Designer, you will: Drive Strategic Vision: Serve as a key partner in the overall planning, direction, and governance of our facilities. You will develop comprehensive design and occupancy plans that align with BPA's long-term strategic objectives.

Act as the Lead Technical Expert: Provide authoritative advice and guidance on all interior design and space planning matters to staff, managers, and executive leadership, influencing key decisions across the agency. Own Projects from Concept to Completion: Manage the full lifecycle of multiple, complex interior design projects, taking full ownership of scope, budget, schedule, and quality to deliver exceptional results.

Lead and Mentor Diverse Teams: Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration, removing obstacles, and mentoring colleagues to elevate the project management capabilities of the entire organization. Represent BPA at a High Level: Serve as the organization's representative in technical discussions and meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, industry partners, and technical committees.

Solve Complex Design Challenges: Tackle unique and complicated space-planning problems, using your seasoned judgment and creativity to develop innovative solutions where traditional methods may not be adequate. Champion Innovation and Best Practices: Research, evaluate, and implement emerging trends, new technologies, and sustainable practices in interior design to ensure our workspaces are modern, efficient, and forward-thinking.

Ensure Design and Safety Excellence: Interpret and apply relevant building codes and standards to ensure all projects meet legal and regulatory requirements, resulting in functional, safe, and pleasant working environments for all employees.
