Serving as a Lead Law Enforcement Specialist (Firearms Instructor/Administration) GS-1801-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Firearms Division (FAD), Core Training Operations (CTO) Directorate under theOffice of the Associate Director for Training Operations (TOPS) and located in Glynco, Georgia.The primary purpose of this position is planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the FAD training program. Typical duties include: Serving as a lead instructor, subject-matter expert, and program/course developer in the assignedfirearms program/course areas of law enforcement training. Using the lesson plan as a guide, the position manages and/or conducts basic and/or advanced firearms training programs. Providing oversight concerning the conduct of basic training classes for personnel and plans, coordinates, and executes field training and lab exercises. Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and/or recommending remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions. Initiating content changes and develops different approaches and methods of instruction and recommends any other changes needed to improve the course/program and achieve course/program objectives.
