The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is seeking a highly energetic candidate to fill the Lead Medical Support Assistant. Located within HAS. The Lead Medical Support Assistant (MSA) is proficient in all appointment scheduling and consult functions. The Lead MSA provides administrative support and has overall responsibility for coordinating, directing a wide variety of administrative, technical and clinic support. VA Careers - Lead Medical Support Assistant: https://youtube.com/embed/UJO_XH5uCLs Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Medical Support Assistant: vacareers.va.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/Total-Rewards-of-a-MSA-VA-Career-Flyer.pdf Typical duties include but are not limited to: Scheduling, canceling, re-scheduling patient's appointments and/or consults Entering no-show information Monitoring electronic wait lists Preparing for clinic visits Establishing and maintaining medical outpatient and inpatient charts as well as administrative records Monitoring both inpatient and outpatient appointments for areas of responsibility Obtaining medical information from patients Coordinating information and actions related to patient care and services Ensuring encounter forms are completed in order to obtain appropriate workload credit Verifying and updating demographics and insurance information Ensures that the Interdisciplinary Team setup (including consult category of care) is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the VA clinics, and make any necessary adjustments.
Work with the team to reinforce the plan of care and self-help solutions Managing consult metrics to verify and validate accuracy and resolve issues Participates and provides input in problem solving on operational issues or procedures in team meetings Other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
