Job Summary

This Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor will serve as a psychotherapist on a Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) team. The BHIP therapist will foster recovery-oriented, patient-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, mental health care for Veterans assigned to the BHIP team.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide individual and group evidence-based treatment for Veterans with a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions. Provide crisis intervention and stabilization, which may include facilitating connections to higher levels of care (e.g., emergency department) for patient safety.

Conduct all three components of measurement based care: collect patient reported outcome measures, share results with Veterans, and act on the basis of those findings. Use telemental health and face to face modalities to provide psychological services to Veterans. Promote communication between team members, patients, and their families to facilitate recovery-oriented treatment. Actively participate in BHIP team huddles and through electronic communication (e.g., TEAMs chat).

Engage in implementation of the national BHIP Collaborative Care Model, including following standard operating procedures and contributing to continuous improvement efforts in the BHIP. Complete timely documentation as required by the Medical Center Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm OR 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility. Continued from Qualifications Section: Physical Requirements: Physical aspects associated with work required of this assignment are typical for the occupation, see Duties section for essential job duties of the position. May require standing, lifting, carrying, sitting, stooping, bending, puling, and pushing. May be required to wear personal protective equipment and undergo annual TB screening or testing as conditions of employment.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office/clinic setting with minimal risks that requires normal safety precautions; the area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. However, the work environment requires someone with the ability to handle several tasks at once in sometimes stressful situations. Note: Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S.
