Job Summary

The position is located in the Behavioral Health (BH) Service Line programs. BH provides ambulatory care services to mentally ill and/or substance abusing Veterans and their significant others. Veterans receiving services may have concurrent psychiatric disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, medical conditions, and multiple psychosocial stressors. This position is full-time 40 hours per week.

Major Duties

***This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. Eligible applicants will be referred at established intervals or as additional vacancies arise, and referrals will continue until all positions have been filled.*** Major duties and responsibilities include: Works with Veterans facing complex medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges. Completes comprehensive psychosocial assessments to determine Veterans' and families' needs and supports their maximum use of treatment for optimal independence. Uses telehealth equipment to provide individual and group services and education through various devices. Participates actively as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, collaborating on treatment goals and interventions. Applies knowledge of mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and evidence-based treatments across acute, chronic, and traumatic conditions. Independently delivers treatment modalities, educational classes, and therapeutic groups for Veterans and families. Provides consultation to treatment team members on psychosocial needs and their impact on health care planning and treatment compliance. Maintains knowledge of Veterans' benefits, services, community resources, and referral processes. Completes clinical documentation per MHSL and healthcare center standards, ensuring thorough and clinically appropriate records. Communicates effectively, orally and in writing, with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (subject to change based on the needs of the facility.)
