The incumbent is a Senior Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) whose duties and responsibilities relate to the case management of Veterans who are demonstrating suicide behaviors. Must be skillful in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of at-risk Veterans as they transition through care. Provides these services at an advanced practice level to eligible Veterans to meet biological, psychological, social, and environmental needs.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, however, not limited to: Conducts comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing advanced clinical skills. Develops differential diagnoses and creates individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices. Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions utilizing evidence based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR).
Offers specialized therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of veterans including those with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. Manages complex cases involving multiple service needs. Coordinates care with other providers and community resources. Ensures continuity of care by facilitating transitions of care and providing follow-up services.
Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health programs and services. Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes for veterans. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with VA policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Ensures compliance with all applicable legal, ethical, and professional standards.
