This vacancy is for a GS-0346-12, Logistic Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION OPC RESIDENT INSPECTION OFFICE -RIO MOBILE AL in MOBILE, Alabama.
You will serve as a/an Logistic Management Specialist and be responsible for tracking and updating logistical requirements which includes evaluating contractor data submittals, reviewing, and analyzing logistics data, drawings, engineering change proposals, contractor progress, and contributing to design and progress reviews.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Working closely with contractor personnel, project managers, and sustainment community to ensure logistics requirements and program goals are being met. Providing logistics expertise in the areas of design development, production and delivery requirements, and initial and follow-on operations requirements.
Assisting the development of formal logistic presentations including logistic readiness reviews and reports to higher-level program groups. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTMandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. Incumbent is expected to obtain/maintain Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) certification Level II within 12 months of hire.
Required to meet the DHS Lifecycle Logistics Level II professional acquisition certification requirements within 18 months of assignment.
