Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports a multidisciplinary specialty clinic providing Dermatology, Allergy, and Neurology services. This role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered clinical care while assisting providers during specialized procedures. Will be required to float to other outpatient clinics as needed to support daily operations. .

Key Responsibilities

The LPN performs, reports, and records assigned nursing care in the outpatient clinics, including, but not limited to: Makes observations and thoroughly documents care and the patients response. Appropriately seeks assistance and guidance by informing RN or medical provider of changes in the patients condition requiring higher level intervention. Vital signs, ADLs, hands on patient care and data collection as assigned. Check expiration dates of meds and supplies.

Delegated procedures and treatments, including but not limited to: venipuncture, EKG, bladder scan, ear irrigations, wound care, medication administration, oxygen administration, accudata, doppler, pulse oximetry, foley catheterization, weights, and other procedures requested by provider within the LPN scope of practice Medication administration to include IV medication if required.

Electronic record documentation, including documentation of procedures, medication administration and effectiveness, clinical information obtained during patient assessments, vital signs, and other pertinent clinical information. Assists with minor procedures, including obtaining and arranging necessary equipment, positioning patient, ensuring comfort and privacy. Monitors patient during the procedure.

Completion of tasks designated by policies/procedures/protocols and/or assigned by supervisor. Admits patients into a room in a timely and efficient manner using correct patient identifiers. Keeps exam rooms stocked with appropriate equipment/supplies needed for patient care. Adheres to standards of practice and safe technique in preparation and administration of medication.

Promptly recognizes urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeks assistance and effectively intervenes as directed when appropriate. Demonstrates professional behavior (i.e., respect, civility, ability to accept constructive criticism), effective communication and interpersonal skills. Adheres to principles of infection control, safety, and universal precautions. Follows policy and procedures related to fire and disaster drills, safety and security measures.
