Involved the operation and production of a factory engaged in the rebuilding and remanufacturing of a wide variety of complex vehicular equipment and components for various agencies of the federal government, including the military, by utilizing an inmate work force. Manufactures injection molds, including designs to meet mill specifications for the UNICOR Vehicular Re-manufacturing plant. Provides on the-job training and study programs for inmate crew members in both welding and machine shop operations. Records inmate work hours for payroll purposes and accurately tracks the cost to produce re-manufactured and reconditioned goods. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
