You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor with Dinosaur National Monument. The primary purpose of the position is to manage, direct, plan, control, and evaluate the buildings, utilities, grounds, and custodial maintenance functions of the park. The incumbent will share with, participate in, and make recommendations to the Facility Manager in all areas pertinent to the direction and administration of maintenance and construction functions undertaken by the park.
Career Seasonal: Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately January through mid-December and you will be in a non-pay status (12/20/26-1/2/27) for the remainder of the year.?
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and work direction of buildings and utilities trades, crafts, trails, grounds, and janitorial facility operations. Serves as Project Supervisor and park Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Agreements Technical Representative (ATR).
Provides professional and technical support and knowledge on utilities, trades, and crafts such as electrical, HVAC, potable water system operation, drainage, storm and sanitary sewer systems, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, trails, grounds keeping and janitorial services. Writes scopes of work for contracting packages. Reviews and tracks the budget and provides input to Facility Manager on divisional allocation requests and expenditures.
Reviews, approves, and tracks purchasing for the facility management division. Performs supervisory duties such as preparing HR packages for recruitment, scheduling work assignments, managing workload capacity, maintaining records, managing employee performance, and actively supporting the EEO program. Manages the FMSS system for the park, ensuring that information is accurate, thorough, and timely.
Works with Facility Manager to enter proactive project plans in PMIS for project funding.
There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.
This position is with National Park Service, Department of the Interior.
The posted pay range is $39.82 – $46.45/hr.
