You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor with the National Park Service at Petrified Forest National Park. The purpose of this position is the supervision of tradespeople in the maintenance of facilities within the Petrified Forest National Park.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: The primary duty of this position shall be the supervision and directing the activities of subordinates in trades and crafts including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and road maintenance. Responsible for a fleet of up to 20 maintenance vehicles and equipment and all shop equipment.
The incumbent has full supervisory responsibility over park maintenance operations and subordinates and ensures that all maintenance requests are assigned.
The maintenance supervisor has wide latitude for independent action, initiative and assumption of responsibility while acting within general instructions, standard procedures and established policies; is responsible for planning, scheduling and executing approved work programs and for the effective and economical use of personnel, equipment, materials and methods.
In addition, this position serves as the park Collateral Duty Safety Officer working to ensure the implementation and compliance of all safety regulations and acts as a Contracting Officer's Representative on construction, service and supply contracts.

The posted pay range is $41.36 – $48.22/hr.
