As a member of the Trinka Davis Veterans Village Maintenance team, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of duties within the HVAC and Electrical trades, such as performing maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and inspection of the ground source HVAC and electrical systems. This position is located in Carrollton, Georgia and reports to the Facility Operations Supervisor.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and maintains HVAC systems and non-medical electronic instrumentation and devices used in plant operation applications within the facility and in other non-medical electronic applications. Plant operation applications include building automation systems, energy management systems, HVAC control systems, access control systems, and security systems. Performs and documents preventive maintenance and safety inspections to insure safe, proper, and reliable operation of instruments and devices. Develops preventive maintenance procedures for new equipment and revises old procedures to reflect current accepted practices and changes. Responsible for functional equipment safety regarding the operator and any other affected equipment user. Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safety operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls. Determines and places distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and installs wiring, couplings, conduit, relays fixtures, transformers and other electrical devises including electrical service entrances. Performing related duties as required. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Work Schedule is subject to change based on agency needs.
