The primary duties of this position are: Performs a variety of intermediate up to advanced skill level maintenance duties for industrial facilities and equipment associated with dams, hydroelectric power plants, and related facilities. Maintains and repairs equipment and facilities in an industrial environment requiring an intermediate skill level in a variety of trades, including masonry, concrete, carpentry, welding, plumbing, painting, and mechanical. Performs work independently, as a member of a work team consisting of different trades, and/or by providing technical direction to co-workers or helpers. Examples of work include: Makes structural repairs, additions and modifications; constructs and erects scaffolds, including suspended scaffolds; maintains and repairs valves, gates, metal work, sewage and water systems, pumps, fans, motors, compressors, etc.; mixes, places, and finishes concrete; threads, solders, cuts, and assembles water and sewage pipes; performs minor welding repairs using air/gas and electric arc processes; and performs and/or assists in the disassembly, repair, and assembly of machinery and equipment. Operates and uses a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools, such as cranes, welders, farm tractors, motorboats, forklifts, motorized man-lifts, light trucks, front-end loaders, road grader, tractor-trailer rig, large trucks with snowplows, impact wrenches, grinders, etc.
