Job Summary

This position provides assistance to the Journeymen craftsmen in Chinle Service Unit. The purpose of this position is to assist in the accomplishment of the Facilities Management program by programing carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, heating, and other related maintenance and repair work. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Installs and repairs electrical components and existing circuits in using established layouts, wiring diagrams, and standard trade practices. Performs surface preparation and painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, priming, and applying finish coats to buildings, structures, and equipment.

Performs carpentry maintenance and repairs by constructing, installing, modifying, and repairing minor structures, including framing, partitions, shelving, doors, windows, and trim. Performs electrical maintenance and repairs on existing wiring, fixtures, controls, and related equipment by replacing defective components, making connections, and completing repairs using established safety practices.

Performs routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, air conditioning equipment, and related facility systems. Performs routine plumbing maintenance and repairs on facility systems and components.
