You will serve as a Maintenance Worker Leader. Performs as a working leader: Passes on to other workers the instructions received from the supervisor by assigning daily tasks to individuals of the work group. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Performs as a working leader, creating work orders and assigning work to others. Demonstrates proper work methods and works along with others to set a work pace. Ensures necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools are available when needed. Performs non-supervisory work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades. Operates lifts, mowers, and motor vehicles. Cleans the visitor center and park headquarters. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.
